Who's Crawling Your Content? We're Taking the Stage at Digital Bash
Nadeem Qureshi and Nepomuk Seiler (gutefrage.net) share real data on AI bot traffic and what publishers can do about it.
On 30th, we're joining Digital Bash – Marketing Tools to talk about one of the most underestimated challenges in publishing today: AI bot management.
Starting at 9:10 AM, Content Bridge co-founder Nadeem Qureshi takes the virtual stage alongside Nepomuk Seiler, CPTO and Managing Director of gutefrage.net, for a 30-minute session titled:
"Who's Actually Crawling My Content? Bot Management as a New Must-Have for Publishers"
The session is free to attend. Register here →
What we'll cover
AI systems like ChatGPT, Claude, and Google's AI Overviews are increasingly answering search queries directly without ever sending users to a publisher's website. Zero-click search is no longer a warning signal. It's the new normal.
At the same time, nearly half of all website traffic in Germany is now generated by bots, many of them operating without consent and without publishers even knowing they're there. The only line of defense for most publishers today is a robots.txt file, a 25-year-old standard built for a different internet that well-behaved crawlers respect and the rest simply ignore.
In our session, we'll show what active protection actually looks like, and why real-time bot transparency is the foundation for something bigger, the ability to treat AI and data scraper crawlers differently, negotiate from a position of strength, and eventually unlock fair content licensing as a new revenue stream in the AI era.
The four questions we'll answer:
- Nearly half of German web traffic comes from bots — who are they, and which ones actually matter?
- What does meaningful crawler protection look like in 2026 — without putting your SEO at risk?
- What should publishers consider before actively blocking a bot or bot category?
- AI companies are signing million-dollar content deals with major publishers. What does that mean for the other 99%, those without legal teams or negotiating leverage?
Real data from a real publisher
We won't just be talking theory. Together with gutefrage.net — one of Germany's largest Q&A platforms and one of our first proof-of-concept partner — we'll share actual crawler data showing which AI systems are actively harvesting content, at what scale, and what that means for future monetization.
